BRYAN LARSON Partner, General Counsel

I joined Macfarlan in 2011 as a Partner and General Counsel. Prior to joining Macfarlan, I served as a partner at Thompson & Knight LLP where my practice focused on the acquisition, disposition, financing, development and leasing of commercial real estate.

More about my history...I regularly had the opportunity to represent portfolio lenders and other financial institutions in connection with defaulted loans and loan administration, with significant experience representing special servicers in the CMBS market, handling foreclosures, receiverships, loan sales, loan modifications, and restructuring. My gained expertise also includes representing companies and financial institutions in complex financings, including syndicated and single bank loan transactions, both secured and unsecured, mortgage warehouse lending arrangements, and asset purchase agreements. I graduated from the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada with my B. Ed. In Secondary Mathematics and Baylor University School of Law, J.D. in 2002.

Why I Love it Here

I love working at Macfarlan because (a) I work with people I genuinely like, and (b) every day I'm able to use my legal background to creatively structure solutions to real estate issues. For some reason, I'm naturally curious about how human beings finance real estate on the planet. It's fun and rewarding to re-position an asset and realize value.

I love working at my job because it's intellectually challenging, relationship driven, and hopefully financially rewarding for Macfarlan and our investors. I have the opportunity to help our investors access an industry that requires specialized knowledge and relationships. And of course, Macfarlan succeeds when our investors succeed.
